  • When I was growing up, my brother and I walked to our school - which was quite a hike at the time to little kids! At LEAST 10 blocks, in NYC (Queens). Unbeknownst to us, the first few weeks, our parents followed us to make sure we were safe.

  • I was in St. Joseph, Missouri, working as a veterinary technician. I grew up in New York City (Queens) and this was the first year I didn't _live_ there.

  • People kill, for a variety of reasons. Some unfortunately, are based off of their perception of their religion. This does not mean that religion is bad. Otherwise all the other reasons people kill are also bad... like money and sex.

  • @Dragonwagon5: Same book, same people, different religion? Yes. Judaism, Christianity and Islam have, at their foundations, the same books, same people and yet are different religions based on where their respective religion "split" off.

  • They believed they were doing what they were right to be doing. But it doesn't make it right. Just like I think that people who believe it is their religious duty to kill me are wrong too.

  • I disagree slightly. While yes, there will be situations where it just feels wrong, no matter what you are taught, it is also very hard to go against the grain... if you're taught and told that what you're feeling is WRONG, that what you're being taught is RIGHT...
